Dumortierite History Mythology Information: Dumortierite was named after the French Palaeontologist Eugene Dumortier (1801-1876) when it was first described in 1881 from a stone being found in Chaponost, France. Most Dumortierite contains Boron which is commonly used as a cleaning product.
You can also find ‘starbursts’ of Dumortierite that form in Quartz and grow amazing inclusion. These are a lot rarer and more expensive and have the added benefit of the Quartz amplifying the properties of the Dumortierite.
